South Australia bucked the unemployment trend during the pandemic creating jobs across the banking and finance industry, hiring talent from COVID-19’s hardest hit industries of travel, tourism and hospitality.
Westpac Group created more than 300 new roles in Adelaide in July this year, ranging from roles of customer support to team leaders, analytics and operations management, consumer and business bankers, and more - many of these roles also support Westpac Group’s national operations across all its brands.
These latest roles build further on the Group’s announcement in March that it had created 1,538 new jobs in the state over the previous 16 months across a diverse range of functions such as home lending services; specialised customer support; financial crime and fraud; risk and compliance; superannuation and investment support services.
